A Travellers Tale | Rainy Day in Milford SoundGuest post by Connor Hutton | Scotland
We asked our social media followers to submit a photograph with a short story about their South Island trip. Connor Hutton submitted this image and story. Thank you Connor.
I took my first solo travel adventure to New Zealand back in 2019 and it was the best thing I have ever done.
Before going on that trip I had never been on a plane myself or had a connection flight and I had never really been anywhere on my own. So to journey to the other side of the world from Scotland was a huge challenge and one I am glad I gave myself.
This picture was taken from the top deck of the Milford Sound cruise I went on during what was the heaviest rain I have ever experienced - but that made it look so much better with all the waterfalls. This was the moment I knew that I loved New Zealand, more specifically, the South Island. It helped me reflect on everything that had happened in my life so far and what I wanted to do in the future.
Returning to the South Island isnt a matter of if, it's a matter of when.
